RETROFIT55 #HorizonEurope project kicked off at the beginning of this year. Partners representing various sectors of the European #maritime Industry were called on to develop an advanced web-based decision support system. This system shall aid, among others, Ship Operators, Designers and Shipyards, to select the most suitable ship-specific green technologies that reduce fuel consumption and Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions.
The consortium consists of 14 partners, who are specialists in their respective fields and shall contribute towards the goals of this project. As part of a new series of posts, we would like to present each partner of the consortium and briefly talk about their contribution to the project
Meet the Partners #1 – Atlantec Enterprise Solutions, Germany
Atlantec Enterprise Solutions was founded in 1999 by experts in shipbuilding, engineering and computer science. They offer industry experience and domain expertise and speak the language of the maritime industry. Their mission is to provide sophisticated IT solutions for the maritime industry that enable clients to improve engineering, production and life-cycle management processes in a cost-effective manner.
As part of the RETROFIT55 Consortium, Atlantec Enterprise Solutions is responsible for the development of a web-based configurator tool aiming to provide most suitable choice and combination of existing and potentially available green technologies to retrofit a specific vessel in order to minimize the energy consumption and emissions while assessing cost/benefits. The image below shows the overall ship-modelling workflow to be applied within the web-based configurator tool.
